Samara had a split second of weightlessness before Riet had caught her slipping grip. It had been a near thing, but the mandorlean had hauled her with all her strength and deposited the Sith right by the hatch of the walker.

"Thanks!" the sith breathed over the comms. That had not been a good start to the plan. It was good thing Riet had jetpack.

"Get Mara while I work on opening up this walker."

The dark haired woman flicked on her lightsaber and spun the weapon around to the blade was down. She then stabbed it through the hatch's locking mechanism, and used her other hand to fling it open.

"Surpise!" the sith yelled as she dropped down into the walker, much to the surprise of the pilots. She could have dropped a grenade down into the walker, but the blast would have damaged the controls as well as kill the pilots. They wanted to turn the walker on the others, not completely immobilize it.

However, the sith didn't land as well she hoped and lost a few precious seconds and was not able to immediately dispatch the pilots.

Aztlan - Corania System, Outer Rim - Sector D1 of the Defensive Line

One of the other walkers took notice of the Armored sith on the jungle floor, harassing his brethen. It turned and began to stomp towards Tannaas, hoping to catch the sith while he was recovering from a dodge. The fourth had been focusing on blasting it with it's weapons, but the 3rd seemed intent on stepping on the pest. Even though Taanaos was back on his feet, the walker made a move to squash him!

Meanwhile, Mara's grenade went off towards the lead walker. It took notice and began swiveling back and forth looking for a target. Not finding one readily, it began to spray the trees with blaster fire. Some of the shots came towards the tree Mara was hiding on. She would have to dodge or risk having her branch shot out from underneath her.

The second walker continued to fire at the trenches.

Inside the last walker, Samara faced off with the pilots. Despite being caught completely by surprise, one of them reached for a side arm and attempted a shot at the sith.

Outside, Riet no longer had to worry about the jerking 4th walker, leaving her free to ferry her teammates around.

spoiler: show
Taanaos needs to make a agility or acrobatics check to avoid getting stepped on and continue being a distration. Don't forget Dark Presence.
Mara needs to make a agility or acrobatics to avoid getting the tree branch shot out from underneath her.
Samara needs to make defense vs blaster
Riet - fly check to get Mara or whatever.

Mara squeaked an "Oops!" as the grenades effect had a much different outcome than she expected. But it had accomplished something to distract the walker from firing at other people.

She scooted around the trunk and leaped to a new branch that was shielded from the walker's fire and view for the moment.

She waved for Riet to come near so she could be flown to join up with Samara inside the other walker.

Samara twisted out of the way as the pilots shot blasted by her and hit the back of the compartment. The sith snarled at and lashed out with her lighstaber. She took the head of the blaster wielding pilot and then slashed the energy weapon onto the copilot. In a short few seconds, both had been dispatched.

"Clear!" she called over the comms. Samara deactivated the lightsaber and quickly began hauling the bodies out of the pilot seats. Now it would be time for Mara to get in and take over.

Riet watched Samara scramble down into the walker’s cockpit and disappear. She knew the dar’jeti would do her job.

She steadied herself for a moment, then looked over her shoulder and saw Mara gesturing at her. She nodded and took off again, flying close to the branch and grasping Mara by the arm. It occurred to her that maybe they should don harnesses for future missions, at least ones that were likely to need her to ferry others about. She could get a good grip on a harness, or even physically hook herself to the other person, rather than risk her gauntleted hand slipping.

She grasped Mara tightly and flew toward the walker. With the added weight, the maneuvering was tricky. She struggled to get Mara into the proper position.

“Can you jump?” she called out.

Mara was dangling over the forest. The scene around was chaos as blasters and laser bolts flashed back and forth between the Imperial invaders and the rebel forces dug in. The whole idea was precarious and in need of some refinement if they ever tried it again. But so far, despite near disaster, Samara was taking care of business.

She was almost there and she replied, "Yes, I think I can do it! Swing me there and let go n-"

She was dropping through the air without Riet holding on to her any longer, their grip released early or maybe her hands slipped out. She waved her arms forward to help break her fall and grab a hold of something on the scout walker as she landed. There she was dangling on the side of the machine, with a good hold on something firm. She scrambled up and made it inside the walker.

Taanoas nimbly tumbles out from under the feet of the walker, glad the armor was as flexible as it was. The prospect of getting stepped on was... unpleasant. He watched Samara scramble out of view. One down, three to go.

As he continued to dodge he spotted Mara drop and catch Samara's walker and scramble up successfully. The plan was working. Odds were in their favor and the strength of the Force was with them.

Aztlan - Corania System, Outer Rim - Sector D1 of the Defensive Line

Scrambling down the hatch, Mara joined Samara just as the sith woman had cleared the pilot seats. The controls of the walker were unfamiliar with the woman. Thankfully, the bureaucracy of the Imperial state required most controls to be labeled in some form or fashion. Labeled enough that driving the walker or firing the blasters could be figured out readily enough by any one with basic experience in piloting.

Outside of the now commadeered walker, the lead walker spotted Reit buzzing around. It started to take pot shots its side cannons at the mandolorean.

Luckily an officer along the defensive line was keeping an eye on your progress. The trench guns no longer were sending shots at the capture walker. Shots still ranged at the other three. The second walker ended up taking a couple that caused it's attention to focus back at the line. The 3rd walker realized what was up with the last and began to swivel in direction to deal with now sith controlled walker. Mara and Samara would need to figure out the controls fast.

Down on the ground, Taanaos was forgotten by the walkers themselves. A squad of imperial troopers moving up under the cover of the walkers had spotted him. Seeing his armor, they dove for cover and began to take pot shots at the the sith. From their armor and weapons, they seemed to be regular shock troops, equipped to deal with the trenches. They were close enough that the armored sith could easily engage the squad.

Mara and Samara - need to make piloting or heavy weapons rolls to driver or fire the walkers blasters
Reit - agility to dodge incoming blaster fire.
Taanaos - make an attack roll for dealing with the troopers

Taanoas strode forward towards the imperial troopers, pulling on the power of the force to instill a proper amount of fear within the troopers. He moved his lightsaber deftly and controlled, deflecting the shots as they came at him. He intended to reflect them back at the troopers themselves, but wasn't able to quite get the blaster bolts to connect. Perhaps his lack of taking out any of their companions with reflected shots bolstered their resolve as they seemed insufficiently cowed by his advance. That or they were already fearful enough and his actions simply reinforced their opinion. No matter. He would show them what it was to face one strong in the Force. Finally reaching their position his blade rose and fell, striking the first. Having downed the man his attention immediately turned to the next. There was work to be done.

I believe the d12 indicates that I can use the reflect ability using my wield lightsaber skill. If I'm mistaken, let me know.

Wasn't exactly sure what to do here. I have the power and believe that means I make a Force check. Hopefully that's right.

Mara was not a weaponeer, but she did have passable skill at piloting. Quickly studying the controls and their labels she made a few experimental tries to get a feel for them. She had not been used to foot controls either, but they sort of made some sense when it came down to it.

"Okay, I think I have this. You try to shoot up the backside of the walker in front of us."

After the first lumbering steps, she got the hang of it and was able to get the scout walker to stomp after their target.

Riet hissed to herself in quiet satisfaction as she saw Mara disappear into the walker’s hatch. She’d launched forward like she had a jetpack herself, landing on the side and then scrambling up, as easy as a spider. Then she was gone. Riet had to trust that she and Samara would do their jobs, just as Taanoas had done his. He appeared as a blip on her HUD, a small glowing dot at the edge of her peripheral vision. Were she to look down, she could see his exact position, but she knew she didn’t have time for that.

One of the enemy walkers turned its head in her direction, and she knew that the pilot had seen her. Plasma flared, the brightness of it cut by the sensors in her visor, and she dodged instinctively, more of a shift of her shoulders than anything else.

With the dead pilots out of the way, Samara dropped into the co-pilots seat. Mara had already took over driving the walker. The sith smiled as it didn't take long for her comrade to figure things out. Good thing for Imperial standardization.

"Roger" Samara acknowledged as she settled herself and began looking for the firing controls. Like the pedals and levers for steering the war machine, they were easily labeled. Samara's stint of basic piloting was enough for her to figure it out. She quick grabbed the control stick tied to the main blasters. A targeting reticle popped up on the HUD display just below the front viewing port. Moving the control stick moved the reticle. A wicked smile started to grow on Samara's face.

"Let's see how they like a blaster in the back!"

Samara pressed the firing trigger as she tried to center the target on the imperial walker. However, the sith lacked the experience and did not take in account of the walkers gate and the shot went wide.

Aztlan - Corania System, Outer Rim - Sector D1 of the Defensive Line

Indeed Samara shot was wide as it zipped past the walker and hit the ground several hundred meters away. Samara and Mara in the hijacked walker were now the third walkers full attention. It set off a volley of shots at the pair. Mara would have to act quickly to avoid the brunt of the attack.

The second walker continued to trade fire with the trenches, but it began to slow it's pace as it started focus targeting. It's attention was fully on the defensive line.

For Reit, the lead's walker was too close for comfort. It missed by centimeters, and blasted as tree behind the armored woman. Splinters and branches from the impact on the tree slammed into the flying merc, causing her to momentary loose control of her jetpack. With her sensors beginning to clear, Reit had to regain control before careening onto the ground or another tree.

On the ground, Taanoas engaged the Imperial troopers. Despite not being able to land any of the deflecting shots, he was able to keep the imperials heads down. However, his intimidating presence didn't quite cower the troopers. Even after reaching and dispatching the first trooper. The squad kept it together and began to take more shots at the armored force user. But Taanoas was a force to be reckoned with. One trooper eventually pulled a grenade from his belt and tossed it in the general direction of Taanoas.

Mara involuntary leaned away from the blaster bolts streaking past on their opposite side and yanked the controls to go around a tree in that direction. "Maybe we should have held fire until I got us closer. If we had come up directly behind a meet away, you could have burned a shot right through the rear armor."

She tried to close the distance after passing around the tree to help Samara line up a better shot. She had some trouble when the walker snagged a foot actuator on a root and threatened to topple over. The walker did a stumbling turn as the foot came free and the whole evolution probably looked like the walker was drunk.

The soldier's aim with the grenade was spot on, landing squarely at his feet. Realizing his predicament he launched himself forward as the blast went off, hurling the armored figure forward silhouetted in the blast's flames. His landing was hard and no where near graceful as he landed on both hands and a knee, head bent forward. It was all the more chilling then as he slowly rose, lightsaber reigniting and the purposeful strides transitioned into a charge.
