TSP: Out of Character Discussion

Image Image Image
Far beyond the edge of the inhabited universe lies the Silent Planet, a fertile but isolated world rumoured to be the final resting place for a number of lost interplanetary expeditions. Despite the planet’s deadly reputation, legends of riches, vast resource deposits, and lost alien technology tempt those brave, or foolish, enough to take the risk. Will the Silent Planet’s latest batch of colonists quell its dangerous wildlife and hostile inhabitants, or will they end up as another in a long line of expeditions that have simply ‘gone silent’?

It definitely helps since I'll need to know where the PCs are when combat starts. However, combat technically hasn't started yet. The group is just getting in position right now, so knowing Delvin and Rian's route (travelling up the left side of the cargo hold) is sufficient for the moment. Since their stealth checks succeeded, I placed them near the end of their route, just outside the loading bay where the pirate's fighter is docked.

Sounds very applicable. Are you getting certification out it?

Sounds applicable, but after 2 days, the class is a waste of time. Good general knowledge, but not practical considering my job role. I'm a Linux sys admin.

Do they let you bring a laptop in to take notes? Sounds like prime PbP time if you don’t need to pay attention to the lectures. :p

The pirate in the fighter was alerted before Caitlin and Jaden could make it across the cargo hold, so I placed them partway along their route.

No worries. Caitlin was sort of trying to be bait or a distraction.

Delvin's damage is a bit lower than it should be. As PMiller pointed out earlier, Santiago rules allow a character's Dex modifier to be added to damage for ranged attacks, so the attack should've done 8 damage, not 5. Doesn't make much difference in this case though, -7 vs. -4 hp.

Oh, Calvin, this was a particularly lovely bit of prose:

Calvin wrote:The pirate leader slowly pirouettes through the hold, cursing and flailing for something to steady himself, like an unwilling participant in some surreal ballet.

Great visual - really evocative writing!
