TSP: Out of Character Discussion

Image Image Image
Far beyond the edge of the inhabited universe lies the Silent Planet, a fertile but isolated world rumoured to be the final resting place for a number of lost interplanetary expeditions. Despite the planet’s deadly reputation, legends of riches, vast resource deposits, and lost alien technology tempt those brave, or foolish, enough to take the risk. Will the Silent Planet’s latest batch of colonists quell its dangerous wildlife and hostile inhabitants, or will they end up as another in a long line of expeditions that have simply ‘gone silent’?

I suppose if we really are to plan tactically, we could use a deck plan of our ship. Do you have one, Calvin?

There's one available in the first post. Sorry, meant to bring it up again.

Note that since the PCs have time to prepare for the attack, most of the cargo (the crates and fuel cells), as well as the two power loaders, can be moved/rearranged. Let me know about any major changes, and I'll try to (probably crudely) update the tactical map to reflect these changes.

Also, there's a couple areas of interest in the tactical map. Area 1 (the Loading Bay) is where the pirate's ship is set to land, and Area 4 is the secret cargo hold Oleg mentioned, which can be used as a hiding place or somewhere to put equipment the PCs don't want the pirates to have access to. Most of the rooms adjacent to Area 13 (the Lounge) can also be used for hiding, including the floor hatch (though that would be mainly for maintenance and thus would be quite cramped).

Caitlin has a small mirror, but was not present to hear the question.

Would it be something that Jaden or Rian would know about (Delvin was the one who asked about, so I assume he doesn't)? If not, we can probably assume that Caitlin will intervene and offer her mirror if one of the others try to follow through on Oleg's suggestion to smash the bathroom mirror and use one of the shards.

I was going to have Rian deduce that based on his observations of humans and the human knowledge he can access, that the female of the species might be likely to carry a mirror. :P

Yeah, that would be a safe assumption. ;)

Anyone with a toiletry kit and cosmetics should have a compact. Herzog probably was thinking about that when he wrote the question.

Just FYI, LMiller is not so keen on being first to post after GM updates, particularly when things are not clear cut on what to do. He is still young and inexperienced, even if he hides it well. ;)

Delvin; You might want to remove that conversation contingency in your last IC post. “Once Rian returned with the mirror…”

Rian doesn’t have the mirror and Caitlin will engage him in conversation. If you want to plan together instead of just Delvin and Jaden, then made you all should return to lounge area.

But if you edit out the contingency, you actually give more for LM to reply to. right now it looks like you are ignoring the other PC in your scene.
