Hell has come to Earth (LMiller Only)

Postby Herzog » Sat Sep 12, 2015 11:43 am

Hell has come to Earth, literally. Some how, some way, portals to Hell have opened up around the world and the demon hordes are spilling through. Who are you, where are you at when the portals open, and what do you do ?

Jimmy Hatcher rode down the dirt path on his green Kawasaki dirt bike. He was having a great time. The teenager went pretty fast down the bumpy road. Jimmy went through the woods near his house, and near the rivers. It was awesome.

Jimmy rode for about an hour, and started to go back home. He knew his parents and two younger brothers were getting rady for dinner.

But suddenly, right in front of him, a black hole appeared. He was surprised and skidded to a stop. The teenager lost his balance and fell to the ground,. "Whoa!" Jimmy said as landed on his butt with a thump.

Then a dragon-like creature came out of the hole, roaring loudly. Jimmy scrambled to his feet and climbed back onto his dirt bike. He sped away from the portal, not knowing what to do. The creature flapped his wings and came after Jimmy.

"What is happening?!" he cried, going at full speed.

Dragon like creature roared in pursuit as it chased after Jimmy. For a second it looked like the demon thing would catch up to the teenager and knock him off his bike. But then Jimmy took a fork in the trail that led through a stand of pine trees.

Glancing over his shoulders, the teenager saw the dragon crash into the trees. It struggled to get free, but Jimmy sped away without seeing the result. The roars of frustration could be heard in the distance.

Turning back onto another trail, Jimmy sped towards his home.

Topping a small rise just before he reached his home, Jimmy spied smoke coming from the house. It look like the place was on fire!

Jimmy was relieved when the dragon crashed into the pine trees.

The boy went back home, and got panicked when he saw his house burning. "Oh my god!" Jimmy cried, getting off his bike. He sprinted to his house, and went in the garage. The garage was full of smoke, and Jimmy coughed. He got the hunting rifle which was his dad's. The boy quickly ran back out of the garage.

When he was outside, he looked around to see if there was the dragon.

Jimmy noticed that his family’s SUV was not parked in the garage when he had retrieved the hunting rifle. It looks like his parents and brothers had escaped the house fire.

Jimmy stood out in his driveway peering around for the dragon. Roaring could be heard in the direction of the pine trees. Soon, the dragon could be heard crashing towards the house. It topped the small rise and finally caught sight of the boy. It roared loudly and prepared to charge.

Suddenly, there was a loud screeching of tires. Turning, Jimmy saw his family’s SUV pull to a stop. The fender and hood was dented as if the vehicle had slammed into something. Jimmy’s dad was in the drivers seat, his older brother in the passenger with another of dad’s hunting rifle’s. The younger brother and mother are in the back.

“Jimmy! Thank goodness you’re ok!” shouted his Dad.

The on the hill roared and began to charge after the family.

“Hurry, get in!”

Jimmy pulled the trigger of the hunting rifle, shooting at the dragon-like creature.

Then he saw his family's SUV coming to a stop right in front of him. The teenager looked back at the dragon and fired again.

Jimmy climbed into the back, right next to his younger brother.

"What the heck is that?!" he cried as the car sped down the road.

It was hard to tell if Jimmy's shot actually hit the dragon like demon or not. The beast did not slow down and continued it's charge.

The boy was in the back seat of the family SUV as they sped away, leaving the dragon creature pissed off on the driveway. It roared and took to the air once more, but was not fast enough to catch the vehicle as it sped through the sparsely populated neighborhood.

"No idea!" answered Jimmy's father. He said no more as he focused on driving.

"Yea, that thing wasn't the only thing, " started up Mark, the older brother.

"We were just wondering when you be back for dinner, when a wingless version burst into the backyard. It wasn't nearly as big, and didn't like it when Dad kick the grill into him. Probably what caught the house on fire."

"The rest of us took off for the SUV and the guns. We all managed to make it into the car, when the thing appeared on the driverway. But Dad ran it over with the SUV. Didn't kill it, but sure as heck slowed it down. We then took off looking for you!"

The Mom nodded with gladness. "Good thing we came back to the house."

Mark fiddled with the radio. From the reports coming over the air, it seems that the dragon and demon things were appearing all over town. The National Guard had been called into action, but things were chaotic and a general mess.

Your Dad stopped at the T-intersection of the street you lived on.

"Which way should we go? Into town, or out into the country?"

After listening to his father and Mark, Jimmy nodded and said, "Good job, Dad, for running over the smaller creature."

When the SUV reached the T-intersection and his dad asked a question, Jimmy replied, "Maybe the country is better. We can speed more and it isn't that crowded."

"Right. There is that old gun store...Kingdom Arms I think...that is out in the middle of a bunch of farms. Might be a good place to hold out."

Mark grinned at the mention of the place. "Yeah! That place that is also a paintball field? I've been out there a few times...they got a bunch of woods, some chicken coops and the farm house. Might be a good place to hole up!"

"Paintball!" Mom cried in exasperation. She didn't approve of the hobby.

With a decision made, Jimmy's dad turned down and drove the SUV out into the country. They only had gone five miles with them came up on a blocked road. A large utility van was wrecked across a bridge, blocking the road. It looks like the driver of the van plowed into a smaller demon as one laid several feet from the van itself. THe fate of the driver was unknown as the windshield was cracked.

Jimmy's dad slowed to a stop.

"What do we do?"

"Crap," Jimmy said, looking at the wrecked van. "We have to turn back."

Jimmy turned around to see if the demons or something ws chasing them. Nothing.

"Dad, we should head back to the gun store. That'll be a good place to hide and get weapons."

"The gun store is a mile or so on the other side of the bridge, Jimmy." replied Dad

"Yeah, not sure there is another way across the stream, without back tracking all the way to the freeway and coming down from the north, " said the other brother.

"I did say this place was in the middle of nowhere, right?"

Looking back, there were no demons chasing the SUV. Dad and sons looked at each other as their vehicle idled 100 yards from the blocking van.

"We shouldn't go back to the freeway," Jimmy said nervously thinking a demon could appear at anytime.

"Maybe we should just stay here or try to find a little bridge."

The boy looked to see if there were any bridges or shallow parts of the stream. He also looked around to check if there were any demons or dragons.

The family's SUV idled as you all tried to decided what to do. So far, it appeared that there were no demon's nearby. At least for the moment.

Looking up and down stream did not show any other ways across. The stream's banks had plenty of plant overgrowth along's banks blocking the view the further away from the bridge.

On the bridge itself, the van was upright on it's wheels and just diagonally arcoss the bridge. The front grill and fender were smashed from hitting the dead demon. At least that is what it looks like. No one could recall another way across the stream without significant backtracking.

Jimmy's brother finally spoke up.

"Well, maybe we can just move the van and be on our way."

"And there is the driver too..." added the Dad.

Jimmy gave up on finding another bridge across he stream. He looked at the van again, after his brother and dad spoke.

"Yeah, that seems like the only way to go across," replied the boy. "We have to go talk to the driver, so we can push the van to get through."

Jimmy looked back to see if anyone or anything was there and said, "Dad, go to the driver. Let's talk to him about the situation."

"Alright, son." The dad said. He open the door and got out. Mark also open the passenger door and stepped out as well.

"Mark, Give me the rifle and get in the driver set. Be ready to peel out of here."

"Sure, Dad." The older boy gave the weapon to his father.

With the driver swap complete, your dad approach the Van. On the way, you pass the moving demon. It looked dead and as it's chest had been crushed by the impact with the van. Just in case, your dad put a round in it's head with the rifle he had grabbed from Mark.

There was no movement from the van as you approached and no one visible in the front seats. The van itself was white and had no windows on the side, except those for the cab. The windows shield was cracked from what looks like an impact. The vehicle was not running, and the damage to the front, although severe, didn't appear to impact the ability to drive the vehicle.

Your Dad cautiously approached the driver's side with rifle at the ready. He glanced inside for a moment, and then lowered his weapon. He then quickly jogged back.

"Mark, where's the first aid kit? The driver looked like he smacked the windshield when he ran into the demon. Not sure if he's alive or not. "
