The Night Oasis [OOC]

The deserts of Osirion—land of pharaohs and ancient tombs—hide not just untold wonders, but also unspeakable dangers. When the vast sand dunes part to reveal the ancient pyramid of the legendary Pharaoh of Sphinxes, glory seekers from across many nations race toward it, each fighting to be the first to claim its wonders. Your group of bold adventurers are the first to arrive. Can you claim what's risen from the sands?

Hi guys! =)

So, what's everyone planning on playing? I'm pretty open at this point, so I'm curious to hear what everyone else has in mind.

Based on the email I got, Herzog can be expected to use his Gunslinger, particularly as it looks like Cloak and Daggermark has gone fallow.

I am likely going to re-use something as well. I don’t have any fresh concepts (unless I start exploring the Adv Class Guide) that I want to try while I have others sitting around from other games.

My list includes:
Bard (none in play)
Wizard (none in play if C&D doesn’t continue)
Gunslinger (none in play)

I do have a few characters that were in games but they are also classes for other characters I have in mediocre games. So I could re-use them.
Ranger
Oracle
Summoner (Vanilla or Master Summoner)
Witch

But, it will be hard to pin down a choice until we have the rest of the players on board, though. And considering of of the candidates under consideration is about to start character generation on another site, it might be better to wait a week or two to see how that shakes out.

Right, my first choice is probably gunslinger. But I do have a question. How strict is ammo tracking going to be on this dungeon crawl?

I am open to a different class since this looks to be a brutal module. Might consider something that has a bit more survivability.

Admittedly I haven't played as a gunslinger yet (someday that will change), but the ammo should be kept track of in my view.

Fair enough.

I will wait to see what everyone else decides, but tentatively going to roll with the gunlsinger...

I've got a pre-game thread up. It's more of a chance to get people to interact before any stats need to be rolled. Feel free to RP any interactions you wish with NPCs, and I can handle a few as well as needed. Have fun everyone!

Heh, I am not even sure on race/gender until I get a character concept.

We're looking at four when I get some preparations in place. Right now with the pre-game thread, I know not everyone is quite ready to participate yet but I wanted to give an idea of what the area is like for when you're building your characters.

I will add my caster Oracle to this list now. With a challenging dungeon crawl, that might be best. The Bard is probably too weak.
Wizard would be okay though, but they really come into their own as they level up.

It looks like we could really use a tank to cover everyone else, then. Shall I look into covering that role?

There are a number of ways to cover that role. Consider this party composition:
Herzog – Gunslinger (Delvin)
PM – Oracle (Laria)
CG7 – Summoner (Victor)

Or if Herzog was thinking of something else, he can do something more tanky and it still works as Victor and Laria would not be front-liners.

I had casually looked at samurai or non-mounted cavalier if such a thing exists....

What is the PF equivalent to the warblade from 3.5?

No tried the samurai, yet.
I don't think PF has looked mimicking Tome of Battle.
