Captain Okeefe takes a seat next to Teeva, not really claiming any place of honor. The table has three chairs on each side and one on each end.

Image
Captain Verana takes an obvious place at the head. He passes an instruction to the orderly waiting at the door to the galley for one of the chairs on the sides of the table to be swapped for a taller stool.

With everyone seated he replies, "The First Officer might be joining us later, if he can break away from his duties."

"So I know about your obvious escape from Felucia and the rescue of the Admiral. That much is quite evident. How was the opposition? You appear to be all quite well considering you took on Imperial stormtroopers."

"And tell me, did you discover anything else of particular interest on the mission?"

Teeva nods at the captain as they are all seated and he provides the explanation for the 8th person. The girl didn't know if they were going to be visited by a suprise guest or not. But the duties of First Office make sense if the officer was going to join. Though the near human wouldn't be surprised if he or she didn't. After all, they are on a ship of war, and some one has to be in charge while the captain dines.

At the captains questioning and prodding of the groups mission and what they encountered, Teeva frowns and glances at the others. They had discovered atrocities being performed by the Imperials station there, and no doubt the Captain and his senator would want the details. The young force user is unsure how to begin, and but figured she would start, and Crit and the others can fill in the details.

"Yes, there were troopers present. A dozen or so, along with their officers. A walker that Captian Okeefe made short work of, and a few speeder bikes. I think we were lucky in some respects, and we had help from some of the natives...."

“Indeed. Well, it’s quite a tale. We discovered some interesting things, to be sure.”

Crit sat politely, nodding at Teeva’s words.

“In regards to the natives, we found that they had organized a guerilla resistance movement against the Empire. But the intriguing thing was that they were aided by a human, a former Separatist commander who was stranded on Felucia after the war. With his assistance, we were able to get help from the Felucians. They were very focused on opposing the Imperials, and I believe they can be contacted in the future, if that’s an avenue you wish to explore in the future.”

He paused, his face quite serious.

“They people were being kidnapped and experimented upon at the facility. We retrieved a medical droid that contains information on the exact nature of the experiments, which I’m sure you’ll want to review. Several children in the village had also contracted a strange disease which I think was somehow related, but we weren’t able to determine the cause in the time we had.”

As they all gather and begin sitting Kalla tells the droid to stand in a corner and shut down for a while. He wanted to make sure it was working properly and at least obeying commands.

Kalla quietly moves into a chair that looks like it will support his weight, and settles in for a long dinner where he will just listen. These .. dinners humans seem to enjoy were still somewhat a mystery to him. For him it has always been simple, gather, eat then move on to another area to discuss matters at hand or work on things that needed repairs. He may just excuse himself early and wander around. Wookiees are notorious chowhounds and he could easily eat his fill before the others finished and he could gather his gear and set it to his quarters.

J'hera Zed hops up on the stool provided, it places his upper torso above the table and he doesn't have to crane his neck up to look at the others' faces to talk to them. He listens as Critias Nor and Teeva mention some of the things they discovered. The tiny Force user doesn't think they should mention the tricks they learned from the Felucian chief.

But there was something that came to mind and he asks Critias, "J'hera Zed remembers something about a communications message they discovered. He cannot remember or not, but someone was very interested in Former Imperial Admiral Gilder Varth he thought."

"Yeah, some Imperial Inquisitor named Draco," mentioned Hayole offhandedly in response to the small Force-User's comment.

Hayole paused for a moment as he tried to think, "I've never heard of him before, but I'm sure he's a vicious son-of-a-murglak."

Captain Verana's expression shows disgust at the lengths the new Empire will go in their treatment of non-human beings Though he doesn't sound surprised by the experimentation.

However he takes the latest news very gravely and you can hear the troubled feelings in his voice.

"That is most concerning. It is quite foreboding at that. Perhaps you have uncovered something far more involved than a simple Imperial traitor. The Inquisitorius is hunting down, capturing, and killing Force-sensitives beings of all stripes and colors... even ones with fur." He spares a rueful glance at the sciurus.

With the current mood taking a serious turn, the atmosphere is not very conducive to more idle chitchat. The meal is searve shortly thereafter, and shipboard Captain's fair is decent. It is by no means opulent, but far better than cantina slop.

“That’s horrific,” Crit said, gravely.

He paused while the meal was served, and ate politely. After bland rations on the mission, the galley-cooked meal was something of a treat, but the mood was not terribly conducive to enjoying a sumptuous dinner.

In a lull, he looked back at the captain.

“That’s the very thing I’ve dedicated my life to prevent, and surely germane to the interests of more than a few of us.”

He nodded seriously.

“Do you have more information on the Inquisitorius? Is this something your…movement…is looking into?”

Captain Verana shakes his head, "No, that is not something we are making queries about. Too dangerous."

"We have heard the rumors, of course. But officially the organization is a secret division of Imperial Intelligence and answerable to the Emperor himself."

"After the extermination of the Jedi at the end of the Clone Wars, this organization was rumored to be formed. I think I have heard the name of the Grand Inquisitor mentioned as well. Someone called Malorum. But I have not heard of this Draco."

"I will send a message of inquiry when we get a chance."

Re: TJS: The Traitor's Gambit Part 2 [IC]

Postby Teeva » Tue Aug 06, 2013 3:47 pm

Teeva had been looking forward to a more fresh and homemade meal. Even one cooked by the galley on a warship. She savored a few bits, but then the conversation around the table turned south, and she no longer had her appetite.

While she had no particular love of the jedi themselves, the wholesale hunting and extermination of any force users hit home for the girl. She had been on the run before, and the news of inquisitors witch hunting just makes the point worse. Like Crit had already stated, it is horrible, and wrong.

“Well, at least we pulled one over this inquisition group, without rescue of the Admiral.” Comments Teeva.

Such an organization sounded dangerous, and something to avoid for the time being. But the young force user felt that it’s very existence is a threat to her own, and that she would probably never be safe as long as they were around.

“What do you think the chances are that they will start of a witch hunt as the result of our mission?”

"I'd say pretty high," stated Hayole plainly.

"The Empire isn't exactly known for letting things go, and I have a feeling they may try and interrogate every Felucian they can find."

Hayole took another bite of his food. It was a nice savory bantha steak, which was one of his favorites. It wan't the best steak he'd ever had, but it sure was good. He had no intention of making the mood worse, but it was just how he saw things.

Postby J'hera Zed » Wed Aug 07, 2013 12:40 am

J'hera Zed stops eating for a few moments, whiskers twitching as he sat still in thought. The Jedi being killed was something he was familiar with and he had survived thus far by not even being known to exist.

After mentally reviewing recent events in his mind, he squeaks, "J'hera Zed does not think the recent mission will be cause for a special search of Force users leading to us. The prison was destroyed with the walker also being destroyed by Captain Okeefe. The Storm Troopers encountered at the outpost are dead too."

"The Felucians are also sensitive to the ways of the Force and currently at war with the Empire, even if the Imperials do not know it. Perhaps because Critias Nor has the records of the experiments, the rest of the Imperials might not even know that the Felucians have some Force powers."

"It is not the trip to Felucia that worries J'hera Zed. Instead he is more concerned about the events at Sel Zonn station. Maybe Critias Nor should try sending a message to Switch to trade on information."

The tiny sciurus resumes eating, using one of the utensils to crack open the shell of a nut. The Captain's silverware looks overly large in the furred being's tiny paw and he wields the knife like a two-handed sword to spilt the round shell in half.

“Ah yes, I can do that.”

Crit nodded. He glanced over at J’hera Zed and met the tiny being’s bright black eyes. He took a sip of wine as he considered.

“We did promise to do so, after all, and surely he would know what is going on at his own station. What information should I offer him in trade? I don’t wish to divulge anything we don’t want to get out to the wrong people, but we should offer him something of value.”

Teeva listens to the others speculate the answer to the question she put forth. Thinking about it more, J’hera Zed is probably right. They didn’t exactly leave any witnesses at the prison facility you could easily identify them. And with the destruction of the facility itself, other clues would be very hard to come by. Certainly there would be an investigation, but probably not one that could easily be pinned on a group of force users.

“Oh yes, I had forgotten about Switch.” Teeva responded when the droid was brought up. She pauses and leans back in her chair, pondering the new question of what they could offer up to the droid in exchange for any info about the aftermath of their experiences on the station itself.

“What about the torture and experimenting of the local native species? Perhaps it could be leaked the public and cause some PR problems for the Empire?”

The force user could not think of anything else that might be tipping their hand. Like the success of the mission itself and the rescue of the Admiral. Nor the hookup with the senator’s clandestine operations.

Turning the captain, the near human girl had a thought.

“Switch is a droid information broker we encountered while being hired into his service. He offered to exchange information should we come across something interesting. Would you have anything that could be bartered? Something that isn’t damaging to the cause, or the like?”

Kalla continued to munch his food, not really being affected one way or another with the turn of the conversation. The wookiee did perk up at hearing the Droid, Switch, being mentioned. He had kind of liked him as most droids were mindless automatons, but Switch seemed on a mission, and that intrigued the wookiee. At this juncture he had no real input to the conversation, and when he sees Teeva's decline in appetite he points at her plate inquiring if she was gonna finish it, and that he'd be happy to take it off her hands.
