We have two wands of CLW so it shouldn't take long.

Fair enough - Olbryn will start using hers to zap Ghost until he's more or less fixed.

Sorry for being so quiet. The baseball weekend took long to recover from and the catching up at work and home took another day. I only sat down to read things today and I did not get very far. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

"I fear that I have no spells that will help either," Kailus admits. "Though I have been itching to loose a fireball when the opportunity presents itself." he smiles a little at the thought.

"But I would only do so when we have a clear exit and are convinced that no dwarves remain alive. We five cannot defeat these monsters, and if there are no dwarves alive, then we might as well leave. However, if there is a chance that any survived, then finding them now and getting them out of here will ensure that they remain alive. If we leave to return later, then it might be too late for them. I am loath to abandon such now."

He considers for a minute. "Where would any surviving dwarves hide out? Would they flee the mines or find an abandoned mine shaft that could be defended? I confess that I cannot out myself in their shoes to consider what they might do, but Olbryn, you might fare better? Give us a glimpse into the dwarven psyche that we might at least attempt to find any before we abandon them."

A question for PMiller: Before Olbryn responds to Kailus's question, can I presume that there ARE standard dwarf defensive building techniques that these dwarves might have adopted? For example, I can imagine that there'd be a central defensible cavern where the dwarves would cook, eat and sleep, with only one or two easily defensible entrances, close to both the main elevator shaft and some secondary tunnel that might eventually lead either to the surface or connect to some better-known cave system. Would it therefore make sense to look for a feature like that? Also, is Olbryn right in assuming that the tunnel they had been following was created by the insectoid creatures? Feel free to PM if there's anything you'd prefer Olbryn to not divulge immediately...

The initial main cavern sort of served as a common use area for cooking and probable sleeping. It would have bee defensible from the outside as they could choke point defend the entrance from outside. It is a mine and not an underground dwarven stronghold.

The tunnel you are in was probably dwarven made like the rest.

Sorry, with the end of summer being really busy, I have needed school to start to get back into normal routine. September looks to be much better.

Thanks. I will try to speed the game along some more as things have calmed down in RL for me... except on the weekends.
