"Blast! It's the imp. And the vent!"

Nikhil quickly pointed to the ceiling, recalling the same kind of vent in the previous room.

"Quick, to the other room! Maybe we can catch him there!"

The duskblade crossed the room to the door they entered from and attempted to open it for Phareal and Kaedyn.

Kaedyn let go of the door as Nikhil hustled over and opened it. He looked up where that taunting voice had come from. He had not heard any flapping and was surprised that the alleged imp was capable of casting summoning spells. He wondered why it had waited to use them.

“Drat! I only wish I had some flour in my pack, Dorn. The doors won’t contain him,” he said moving back through the door towards the other one. He shut the bedroom door to make sure that was at least not an option for the little bastard to retreat to.

"Show yourself, you blighter!"

With the unseen foe retreating, "Going to open this door. See what this critter was guarding," Dorn opened the door he had been guarding. Curious to know why the foe had been in the room or why he had been guarding it. Spear first into the room yonder.

Phaeral was pretty positive he’d heard the rustling of cloth on cloth, not leathery wings. He stood where he was and listened very hard, eyes scanning the area for any minute sign of a disturbance on the ground.

~ Day 15, 18:40 - Below the Mausoleum ~With the adventurer's antics, the sinister voice laughed and answered Kaedyn with a, "No! This is too much fun for me to show myself."

Look at you running around like little demonlings loose in a hen house. Ha ha ha!"

With the scout's comment there was some sarcastic respect as he added, "Well, at least one of you is not a complete moron, ha ha ha."

Phaeral did indeed hear more than one invisible creature. The voice above the doorway near Nikhil was obvious. There was a scuffling sound on wood and the door opened across the room where the celestial bison had been. Through the opened door, Nikhil and Phaeral can just make out the end of a large, metal box.

Through the other open door, Dorn saw a spherical mass of flesh two feet across sitting half sunken in a tub of brownish liquid. The smell that came off it reminded him of cooked meat. There was no other exit from the small chamber.

"No easy seen exits." Turning his spear so he could use the butt end he poked the ball of flesh to see if it was more than it seemed.

"Gods!" Nikhil hissed with frusteration as the group realized there were two invisible creatures. The damn imp and some one else in the room. Probably the spell caster or what not.

The big man hurried back to the now open door. Perhaps he could catch the invisible creature with his chain. Near the door, the duskblade whipped the chain out at the empty space. Perhaps he would get lucky.

"If that room is empty, Dorn. Close the door to minimize the area we have to search"

“Ugh! What a mess!”

Phaeral loped after Nik, who had moved to attack the space an invisible person would be. He thought about what he had heard: a scuffling sound, indicating movement. Then the door opened. The probability that the person had moved yet again was low. That meant the invisible person was most likely standing directly in front of the door.

He paused and fired an arrow in that space, the same space Nik was attacking.

Standard Action: Fire at the invisible person, presuming they are at CM45:

(Lots of conditionals depending on what the person is, please see roll itself. However, concealment miss chance passed and at minimum, to-hit was 32 w/ a natural 20. Can roll for crit if necessary.)

Kaedyn shared the others’ frustration too. If Phaeral and the others thought the taunting voice was an imp and he was in that little alcove that allowed him to slip between rooms, the cleric had something for him that might work.

“Tell you what, you little shit! Deal with this,” he yelled back and chucked the flask of holy water up into the corner. It broke and splashed liquid all over the stonework. There was no sign that he actually hit the nefarious creature.

He pulled out another from the belt pouch. He had two more left.

~ Day 15, 18:40 - Below the Mausoleum ~The arrow and the spiked chain passed through the air, apparently not impacting anything. In the commotion of trying to catch the invisible mage, both Phaeral and Nikhil lost track of any clues to its location.

Kaedyn's holy water appeared to only coat the wall and ceiling. The voice taunted in reply, "Oh, you will have to do better than that, dinkle brain. Even an smerge or a smegle could do better, ha ha ha!"

The dwarf poked the fleshy ball. It gave a little, as one might expect by poking some flesh with the butt of a spear. it did nothing to attack back.

He pulled out the last of his holy water and asked, “When you mean flesh, do you mean like those parasites on the back of people’s necks?”

Nikhil gritted his teeth as the imp continued to taunt and his chain found nothing. Whatever creature that opened the door had gone through it. There was no choice to but to go after it.

Ignoring the imp, the duskblade motioned for Phareal to cover him. The half-dragon then steeled himself for what he might be walking into in the unknown room with the large box.

The big man quickly crossed the threshold and into the room. He moved down the one side by the box, and flung his chain at the far corner of the room.

“On it, Nik.”

Phaeral moved up behind Nik quickly, covering him as he moved into the room with the strange metal box. If it was a weapons locker, or a trap door the held dangerous creatures beyond, he didn’t know. They would have to hurry to keep the invisible person from opening it, if that was the case.

He had been so sure that he’d heard movement before the invisible person had passed through the door. But perhaps the person had been standing right in front of the door, waiting for the opportunity to open it, knowing that they would see the motion.
