Hiya and welcome to the site! We are a small community, but a lot of the games have some longevity. I think we have a DnD 3.5 game that's been running for 6 years now.

Thanks! The 3.5 game (which PMillar joined later) is coming up on 4 years; although the last year of RL time has produced about 1 day of in-game time as we seem to spend a lot of time with IC-discussions and planning. :)
Still getting used to the site; please bear with. :)

I think we have a few more games that were started in 2010 that are still running, don't we?

Thanks for checking in here, Delia.

Hey all. Been a long time, but I've suddenly found myself with a bit of free time and would like to get back into pbp. Anyone know of any games starting up soon?

Hey Man! I has been a really long time. The only games starting are Herzog's Black Company and Star Wars: Shattered Mirrior. But using The Window to play rules lite for their respective genres.

I'll have to check out the window. Haven't ever heard of it. But I'll be on occasionally to see if any games open up. Good to see you're still on here man.

We have a section on the boards with the conversion guides. It is a very simple system mechanically, that we found flexible to be used in any genre.

Hiya Ari,
As Pmiller said, my two games have open slots. The first, Black Company, is based off of Pmiller's pathfinder conversion, and is a fantasy homebrew setting. It is set against a back drop of war, where players are convicted felons given second chances in a special army company.

The second game, is a Star Wars what-if scenario. Basically, the Jedi Order controls the Empire and the Sith lead the rebellion. Players are rebel recruits that fight for the fate of the galaxy. The conversion uses SAGA as a base, but is similar to the other conversions. Here is the doc for it: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_0J ... aJboA/edit

One thing about these rules lite system is that once you understand it, it is very flexible in terms of character building. It is a classless system, so you can really branch out with unique characters.

Very cool Herzog. I'll have to read through the rules a bit and it'll take me a few days at least to make a character, but I'd be greatly interested in joining either game, if you'll have me. Been a bit since I've played any tabletops, so it'll take me a bit to get reaquainted with the rules.

OK, let me know.

THere is also the impromptu section under free form, if you want to just bang something together quick.

Sounds good. Anything in particular needed for the black company game?

We currently have a witch and a minotaur brawler as player characters. There is a rogue/pirate NPC that is part of the group, but he can easily be replaced with a player character . But play what ever you want.

Is that a barbarian variant? I am not familiar with it. The big issue with playing obscure classes is that we have to work through the conversion of the classes features. Some are straightforward, like rage, but others either don't make sense at all, or can be a bit difficult to work out. BUt anyway, lay it out and we'll see how it goes.

It's one of the hybrid class variants from pathfinder. Weaker version of rage, and able to cast spells as a sorcerer, with a more limited list and number. Plus, different extra abilities based on the blood line. I might just throw something simple together for my first run through though. I can see how it would be a little confusing with this rule system.
