The Guild's Main OOC Discussions

Postby PMiller » Sat May 29, 2010 4:57 am

This thread is for general OOC Discussions for the Adventurer's Guild. Character builds are put in the other thread. Specific scenarios and campaigns may have their own OOC thread as well.

Okay gents. With 3 sheets to review/approve and Herzog creating (I spoke to him today and it should be coming in 1-2 days). I am just waiting on a sheet from GerOge, if one is coming.

I created a setting for the Adventurer's Guild's location. As of now haven't developed much in it except the map itself (stole it from one of my other games). I will kick off Game 1 for the new players this weekend. Once characters are approved, you can enter into the IC thread and take it from there.

No, but we are not really building parties initially. This is not a Player vs. Player format at this time either.

However playing an evil character with some good characters, might raise some role-playing issues in the long run. But for short term adventuring and testing of a character build, it doesn't matter to me. If I have a group of neutral and evil characters, I can work encounters to match that I guess.

I also don't have a problem administratively adjusting the Alignment later, so long as it doesn't break rules on the alignment dependent traits selected (i.e. the Cleric Domains). The nature of the games (not continuous campaigns) in this section are such that I allowing characters to be reworked in between adventures.

Character sheet is coming but I still need to figure out what to be. It looks like there is a druid, a rogue and a monk.

My initial thought on reading the scenario description was that this would not start as a group of adventurers but as individual contracts or arena battles. I really have no preference but it's fun to be part of a team and I usually try to figure out what might complement other character concepts when the idea is to end up as a team after some intro.

I find that if I don't fall in love with a character concept, I don't have as much fun with the game. I'm going to think on it and come up with something but if you want to start without me, please go ahead.

Please let me know if I have the wrong idea about anything.

Individual contracts for a group, definitely not one-on-one battles. I will check the wording to make sure that it is not confusing. This Guild is still new and I am working on improving things as I think of them.

You don't have to worry about party balance, play whatever you want. Herzog may have need a day or two as well. With it being a holiday weekend in the States everyone may not be ready until Monday or Tuesday. A little role-playing to kick things off as the new characters meet each other for the first time can fill the time while everyone finishes their characters.

Please use quotation marks for speech, not everyone is. Also color is good as well, but make it bold too.

Accepted practice is to use italics for thoughts, but that doesn't really matter so much.

I have a color issue with my eyes and some colors are hard for me to tell apart (almost got me bounced from the Navy before I got inducted). For example the color Lena is using for speech looks the same as the default color for regular text.

Thanks guys.

The bill is 1 sp except for Uthgar who paid half already. You have to subtract it because you are the only one that can edit your sheet.
