Idalla's sobbing stopped and her voice brightened as she stood and turned around. "Really?"

She wiped away tears and shook her head as she sniffed a bit from the carrying on she demonstrated before. "Simply taking your hand and pulling me through, will not work, sir dwarf."

"You will have to break the enchantment by giving me permission to leave the chamber. I have faith that you can do it." She did take the offered hand, despite knowing that it would not help get her out of the library.

Vlad had been quiet as the others took the lead in the conversation. The matter of the woman's imprisonment became apparent with Morrolan keying on the fact the woman was an Aasimar. The swashbuckler hadn't had many dealings with so called outsiders. But reasoning for the summoning and imprisoning for ones ancestral blood made a certain amount of sense.

"So now we have to worry about a wizard? He wouldn't happen to have been a dwarf?"

As Hellsing had mentioned, no one had detected deceit in the woman's words. The sobbing and plight was enough to satisfy Vlads that there was no ill will in the woman.

"Alright, here we go. Idalla, you may leave the chamber."

“No, the wizard was a human man, not a dwarf.”

Idalla hesitated as Vlad gave her permission instead of Orekk. Resigned to try anyway, she stepped forward and her hand stopped as she tried to cross through the doorway.

“Ahh, it will not work unless someone with a good heart provides me permission. I still cannot cross through.”

She gave the swashbuckler a playful smirk, “I guess you are not really a good man are you. Do you like a little mischief, is that it?”

Hellsing frowned, watching carefully as Orekk extended his hand once more.

She did not care for Idalla’s strange mood swings, but some people were like that. It could be explained by the fact she was young, or naïve, or simply so isolated by her imprisonment that she had forgotten how to interact.

She continued to stay back from the door. She had lowered her bow and arrow, but kept it pointed at the floor.

“Where will you go once you are freed, Idalla?” she asked, in a neutral tone. “Do you have family or friends who have been wondering where you are?”

Idalla stepped through the doorway with Orekk’s permission and looked happy, all traces of her tears and sobbing gone. Apparently she was one of those people with a flare of the over-dramatic if it suited their purposes.

“Thank you so much. That study was sooo boring, like you would not believe,” she let go of Orekk’s hand and put both of her hands on the dwarves cheeks, looking like she was going to bend over and plant a kiss on him.

“I suppose I could stay for a bit, and I do owe you that reward. What all of you intending to do?”

The freed woman was more interested in Orekk than answering Hellsing’s interrogations.

Looking around at AurasMorrolan looked over Idalla once more, seeing if there was a shift in the magical aura now that she was free.

He head nodded towards Vlad and said to her, “Maybe our companion would like a kiss. It has been awhile since he enjoyed the pleasures of a woman.”

“Mind you, I would keep it just to a kiss, Vlad,” he added with a grin to his friend.

The duskblade stepped into the room, still looking around to detect magical auras. With the woman showing enchantment instead of the door, he thought it was safe enough. Looking the shelves over, he made a circuit around the table.

Idalla pretty much ignored Hellsing’s existence now that she was free and did not appear interested in being interrogated by the elven ranger any more. It was not lost on her that there was still an underlying distrust and hostility with an arrow still nocked in the bow.

She answered Orekk, “I have not seen any gray dwarves… But there is a dead dwarf haunting these hallways, reduced to a gibbering specter of madness.”

“Since you are here, and I see it not, mayhap you have dispatched the troubled spirit?”

“It did not try venturing into the study. Probably because it was too addled in mind to read anymore. The books are mostly boooooring. Dry dwarven history.”

She flashed Vlad a beautiful smile and batted her eyelashes at the big man’s suggestion.

Sweeping his gaze through the library and its shelves, Morrolan found an aura among the books. It was given off by a scroll tucked away on a top shelf with a few other ones to keep it company.

Araella wrinkles her nose at the unsettled prospects of Idalla walking free. She unconsciously keeps close to Hellsing, as she has no interest into venturing into the library 'prison' just yet.

When the others begin to enter the room, she blurts out, "Idalla, where will you go? Do you know the way out? Why were you here in the first place."

Yep, there I go again... let's see what fool I make of myself this time.

Hellsing took two steps back, then looked over at Araella.

She gave her a quick nod and a meaningful look, hoping that she understood the urgency of her gaze. Then Hellsing raised her bow again, the arrow nocked and ready.

“Idalla,” she called out in a clear tone. “He does not want a kiss. We have done what you asked. I do not know if it is for better or worse that we released you, but it is done now. You have what you wanted.”

Yet Idalla had remained. That was the part that troubled Hellsing now. The strange woman had dropped all pretense of being a victim. Now she seemed more like the predator than the prey.

“Be on your way, Idalla. We will call this even. Go now, and honor your promise to ‘try’ not to harm us. You owe us that much. If we had not come along, and if we had not agreed to free you, you would be a prisoner still.”

Looking around at AurasMorrolan grabbed the scroll off the shelf and commented to Orekk as the dwarf joined him in the library, “This was the only thing showing up magical.” He was not especially scholarly, but he figured that between himself, Orekk and Araella, they might figure out what it contained.

Then he heard Hellsing’s tone in demanding that Idalla be gone. He stepped to the doorway, expecting trouble. “What’s going on, Hellsing?”

Just to be sure he could, he stepped back out of the library.

Day 14, 11:59 - The FoundryMorrolan had no problem exiting the library once more and the aura about Idalla had changed once she had been freed. The Conjuration magic did not appear to exist anymore, only very faint, residual traces showed on the freed woman.

A quick glance showed there must be a couple of thousand books and scrolls in the dwarven library, filling the bookcases. Just sorting through them to look for titles would take several minutes. Very few hand titles on their spines, and some even lacked writing on their covers.

Idalla answered Araella, “I already told you that the wizard brought me here and did not tell me why. But I think I can find my way out of here.”

“I have not decided where to go yet. This place does not appear to be very welcome,” she said with a sidelong glare at the elf pointing an arrow at her.

She spoke in a low voice out of the side of her mouth to the big man coming out of the library, “I think your elven archer is jealous. Though, I had no idea the pointy eared liked fornicating with the stumpy legged.”

Apparently Idalla did not believe that Hellsing would actually shoot her for simply standing there.
