Moving forward to see if the table was going to cause as much mischief as the carpet in the earlier room. His Masterwork Morningstar rested in his hand ready, should the table get close enough to strike at. "Stinks of the arcane." Orekk muttered.

Pierce Illusion (Su): At 3rd level, the church inquisitor gains the supernatural ability to penetrate illusions and disguises at will. The inquisitor must touch an illusion or a creature shrouded in illusion (such as a change self spell). The inquisitor then makes a caster level check as if casting dispel magic against the illusion effect. If he succeeds at this check, the illusion is immediately dispelled. The church inquisitor's +4 bonus on dispel checks (the Inquisition domain granted power) applies to this check as well. In addition, the inquisitor has a +4 competence bonus on Spot checks against the Disguise skill.

Touch of Healing ( Complete Champion, p. 62)
[Reserve] You can channel divine energy into healing with a touch.
Prerequisite Ability to cast 2nd-level spells,
Benefit :As long as you have a conjuration (healing) spell of 2nd level or higher available to cast, you can spend a standard action to touch a target creature and heal 3 points of damage per level of the highest-level conjuration (healing) spell you have available to cast. You can use this ability only on a target that has been reduced to one-half or fewer of its total hit points. The effect ends once you've healed the subject up to half its normal maximum hit points. This ability has no effect on creatures that can't be healed by cure spells. As a secondary benefit, you gain a +1 competence bonus to your caster level when casting conjuration (healing) spells.

"Ah hell!" cursed Vlad as he saw the animated table charging at them. First it was carpet, now it's furniture. They should just start smashing everything they come across.

The swashbucler resisted the urge to rush in and jab at the table. Especially after Morrolan moved up and had his chain ready. Instead, the dark haired man checked himself and only stepped forward.

"Come here you big big of kindling! Your mother was a end table and your father stank of varnish!"

The swashbuckler readied his own strikes at the table.

Day 14, 12:57 - The FoundryWhile most waited in the opening of the hallway, the table focused on the shooter of the arrow that thunked into it. It moved fast for an allegedly inanimate object. Those table legs flexed and allowed it to get up to nearly a gallop as it slammed hard into the elven archer. Hellsing took a hard corner from the table's top into her gut thtat nearly knocked her down and almost knocked the wind out of her.

Table SmashingMorrolan gritted his teeth as the table moved fast in a charge after Hellsing. “Hey! Come back here you wooden…”

“Does a table even have ears?” he asked as he moved past Vlad as he loaded up to deliver a mighty blow with his spiked chain.

Getting within reach he brought it crashing down and through the table’s top to break it into splintering pieces.

“Lass, it be hard to protect you when you sprint ahead, gaining distance between us. Though, it be hard to know how it can see.” He shook out the chain to get the splinters to come out of the links.

Day 14, 12:57 - The FoundryThe nefarious table was vanquished and turned into inanimate kindling and broken boards.

Hellsing stood in an open doorway that led to two pantries. Neither room showed signs of being looted, and the foodstuffs were rotted. There was a lingering stench from the food that had long ago spoiled.

The kitchen was full of rusting pots, pans, and other utensils. None of those came to life.

As the table shatters into splinters, Aeralla keeps her crossbow trained on the remnants just to make extra sure they didn't reanimate again. "Hellsing, are you alright?" She takes a peak into the kitchen from afar. "That would be truly awful if the rusty kitchenware came to life.

Hellsing grimaced, lowering her bow.

“Yes, I am all right. Bruised but nothing more. I could use some minor healing before we continue, however.”

She glanced over at Morrolan and nodded to him.

“A mighty blow. Good work.”

Hellsing turned to look over her shoulder at the rotting foodstuffs piled upon the shelves. She raised her scarf and slipped it over her mouth and nose once more. Surely there was mold here, even if it was not the sort of mold that crept into the lungs like poisoned tendrils and made breath short. Already her eyes were burning, but there was nothing to be done about that.

“I’ll check these rooms briefly. There could be something hidden here, though I hope not.”

She turned and walked in a small circuit of the two rooms, searching them briefly.

Vlad straighten up from his combat stance as Morrolan had acted quickly. The table had ignore every one and gone after Hellsing, but didn't survive long against the big man's chain.

"Well, never know what magical abilities such an enchantment could have granted. Maybe it could have heard."

The swashbuckler followed after the others, glancing around at the kitchen and neighboring panties.

"So the larder..."

"Wonder if there are any secret passages off these rooms."

"Considering how many we have come across so far. I expect at least one should be about."

About spellsMorrolan nodded encouragingly as he moved back towards the short hallway, “Assuredly, the leader would secret passage from bed chamber to kitchen for late night snacking without notice being taken.”

“These animated objects require spell casters of considerable skill, not something accomplish frivolously. A very experienced cleric could animate an object, but it would take an equally accomplished mage to make the spell permanent.”

Day 14, 12:59 - The FoundryMoving around the pantry, Hellsing was unable to find any secret doors or hidden catches. Everything appeared to be normal in that regards.

Orekk found that the stone looked solid and was as it appeared.

None of the rusty kitchen utensils came to life while the few moved around the area.

Morrolan could recall that it was mainly clerics and bards that were very skilled at spell casting that could animate a table for a wizard to then make the enchantment permanent. Such spell working was beyond basic enchantment of magical blades, but perhaps not so far removed from the special enchantments for legendary weapons of multiple, powerful enchantments.

Araella tightens her lips to one side of her cheek as she thinks about what she thought aught to be thunk about. "Color me a little confused... so this was a Dwarven stronghold... but it was ransacked by orcs.... but there is a bunch of evil animating enchantments going around... and those gray dwarves too.... is there something we're missing here? Maybe the orcs were commanded by a dark wizard lord or something?"

Araella hated thinking.
