Supernatural - Chasing the Bad

These groups of hunters are out to save the world from the demons, devils, ghosts, spirits and the monsters found under the bed and in your closets. Although most of the world doesn’t know or believe in most fairy tales, these hunters are out to try to stop the things that go bump in the night from doing their evil deeds in the world as we know it. Some bonds have already been formed and others are still being built. But will they be able to survive from the dangerous things they hunt? Will they be able to trust one another enough to try and fight together? Or will they collapse under pressure? These hunters will face dark times and go down a long dark road. Will they find hope or loss at the end of their path or paths? Happiness or despair? Life or Death? Will they ever find Dex, the one hunter who may have already lost his life to the demons? Each of them must draw from their strengths and work together or they will finally meet and stare death in the eyes.

OK, decided to go back to his original background in the 'Window' game that he was created for.

Only have part of it here at work.

Stuff you could pick up about Patrick Roarke with very little effort. Gossip shows, tabloids, occational news clips.

32 years old
5'11" tall
165 lbs.

Background:
Born in the slums of Dublin, Patrick never knew his mother, she having disappeared sometime before his first birthday.

He's the spitting image of his father, who was a small time hood, a drunk and quick with fists or a belt. His father initiated him into a life of pretty crime and ended up envying that his son was so much better at it than he was.

His father ended up dead in an alley with a knife in his back when Patrick was around eleven. Left mostly on his own Patrick survived, indeed thrived.

He became a voracious reader after teaching himself to read from a book of poems by Yeates he found in the street one day.
Discovering along the way a love for books and learning for it's own sake.

Over the course of the intervening years his empire grew. As it did Patrick gradually phased out the more colorful of his holdings. With luck, smart business sense and a well developed 'killer' instinct, Patrick has become a very wealthy man.

His holdings are diversified, everything from gambling casinos to housing developments, electronics firms to various manufacturing sites. He has investments in many different
countries as well. Anyplace he can get a good deal and make a buck.

Personality:
He now lives
with classic paintings and tasteful antiques filling his homes as well as such 'man toys' as sports cars and planes.

He is fair to his employees, gives to charity and currently his business holdings, up till recently, have been his main purpose in life. He dates discretely for the most part, although he has been linked on occasion in the tabloids with this or that actress or celebrities.

He has acquired several layers of culture, but has never forgotten where he has come from. Anyone who has seriously crossed him has discovered this.

Appearance:
White male
32 years of age
5'11" tall
175 lbs
Black wavy hair, worn a little longer than 'normal' for an executive.
Black taylored business suit. handmade Italian shoes, black.
Bright peircing blue eyes.Very fit, but not 'over muscled'.

Have to work up an actual sheet and his reason for going 'ghost hunting'.

I'm not entirely sure that fits the game either Patrick. The entire idea about being a hunter is that you have to keep a low profile, else the things that go bump in the night will come track you down.

Plus, being wealthy ruins one of the big reasons supernatural is so fun, and that is finding cash. I just see it as being more a problem then a solution.

I think maybe the best way to think of a character for the setting is to dis-regard that the game is modern, because it seems to me your trying to make a D20 modern character, something that doesn't quite fit in this game. It's less about guns and money, more about facing the unknown. Think about Hunter the Vigil if you have ever played it.

With Patrick, I might suggest picking a reason for hunting, then going with his talents and backgrounds. Since the background isn't relevant in the here and now, but the reason for hunting is.

I think a P.I. works a lot better Crane. Maybe on one of your cases, you stumbled across the supernatural in the world, and it changed your life? You realized there were bigger and badder things then men that were capturing and killing people, and decided to go out and fight them?

I was going to take skill points in various Knowledges, Medical, Forgery & Sleight of Hand or whatever it's called in Supernatural.

Ash's personality is one of flirting with guys, getting them to buy her drinks, getting them drunk then taking their wallets for their money, credit cards, etc.

Yes...I am a thief...But an honest one! I don't steal from my friends! Well...Maybe I should go with the compulsive liar flaw...Because that's not entirely true...I will be stealing from my friends....I'll be taking Dex back from Kerri! :P

Kerri smirks, dark eyes focusing hard on Ashley. There's a deep and aggressive fury lying just beneath the surface, and her eyes seemed to show it. She looked like she would eat the young blonde up. Her mind waivered as she felt the mixed bag of emotions coming from her.

Finally, her smirk turns into a mocking laugh. "Hah! You're kidding yourself babe... You'd have to steal something off my cold, dead fingers!" She tilts her head, her eyes squint as she looks like a protective lioness, menacing and threatening. She then adds, almost snarling; "And something tells me you haven't got what it takes."

That shouldn't be too hard...Considering how cold you are now...I'm surprised no one's taken you to the morgue yet or put a stake through your heart.

Dex's eyes widened suddenly, and then darted to the side, looking at the floor, Cornelius, his dog, the Mustang, anything but the two women.

He wondered vaguely how he had gotten himself into this position.

After a few seconds he took in a deep breath, and turned back to the two women.

"Come on, you guys. Let's keep it friendly, huh?"

He offered a tentative smile to both, taking care to make the same amount of eye contact with each of them.

"Anyway, we're here to fight the demons, not each other, right? So maybe we should focus on...that."

OOC: Daemon, I love the continuing adventures of Bart & Company. Great stuff. I think it would be awesome if we ended up running into them at some point, or coming upon a mess they had made, or hearing about them, or something.

The emotion in the room washes over Kerri, her senses attuned to the energy in the room. She grimaces as she feels it hit her hard in the chest, the strong sense of desire coming from Ashley a catalyst to Kerri's own inner demons. "You don't know shit." She grimaces, while one of her hands reaches to her wrist. Her face shows pain as her world starts to go back to the constant conflict within herself.

Her arms are mostly covered. Torn and loose fitted jeans sit on her comfortably, a small t-shirt is covered by a sleeveless hoody. Most notable are the 'punk' gloves she wears. Long gloves that run to her elbow, but they're fingerless.

She pulls at the gloves, scratching at her wrists and her neck. She's perspiring. Small droplets of sweat trickle down her forehead. She squints, and then frowns, irritated.

Dex gives her a focus point, an anchor. His interjection is well timed and brings her back to the now. She ignores the pain she feels inside, foggy as it is. She's not clear anymore if she's feeling her own shit or if its Ashleys.

"I was focused on that!" She snaps at him, turning aggressively to face him. She squints at him too, a common thing she did as she tried to make sense of what she was reading. Dex recognises it straight away. "Look at you, sitting on the fence... Feck it, get splinters far up your arse for all I care!"

She turns away, storming out of the room in disgust... and pain.

[Heh, this is fun. Warming her up, as I'm aware of how difficult this one will be. Deamon, I am also really enjoying your adventures of the team you created as an example. And could also see how great meeting them or seeing the results of their work would be. On a side note, any replies to the pms I sent?]

This game hasn't even started and already you're all off the races with the RP. I'll need some time to catch up.

I've tweaked my character concept a bit to fit in with the no-cops necessity. He'll be a former officer, now a P.I., as I mentioned earlier.

I'll have a sheet submitted in the next hour or so, God willing.

Ash laughs before looking up to Dex And they say Lindsy Lohan has anger issues? And she was not focused on that! She was focused on my apples!

After a few moment Ash holds up two big, red apples and hands one to Dex innocently Would you like one of my apples? I'll share... She smiles sweetly trying to see his smile that she loved so much And you should be glad if you only have splinters in your arse and not got bit by a snake...I would really hate to have to suck the poison out.

Things are indeed shaping up nicely. Your CS is good and set to go Crane. Although that D6 infamy may come back to bite you in the ass, mauahah!
